Widgets, Blogthings and Quizzes

I examined these Web 2.0 Award Winners and I chose the category about widgets (bits of html code that do things when placed in a blog). Three examples of widgets are:
  1. the LibraryThing Recommended Reads (under my photo)
  2. the blogger addiction widget that I posted the other day
  3. and this rocker quiz from blogthings
You Are a Freedom Rocker!

You're stuck in the 70s - for better or worse
Crazy hair, pot soaked clothes, and tons of groupies. Your kind showed the world how to rock. Is that freedom rock?... Well turn it up man!

So, it seems I am stuck in the 70s without the hair, clothes or groupies. I have been experimenting with widgets because I want to learn how we to create Adult Learning Centre widgets for our students' blogs. We could have a widgets for goals, learning styles and demonstrations. Calendar widgets could be used to record both demonstration dates and learning plan review dates.

I need to spend more time looking at these sites:

  1. http://www.yourminis.com/
  2. http://www.springwidgets.com/
  3. http://quibblo.com/
  4. http://www.widgetbox.com/
  5. http://www.bloggersblog.com/widgetlinks/
  6. http://www.clearspring.com/
  7. http://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/
  8. http://www.go-quiz.com/
