The Magic of Wikis

I liked the way that our library 2.0 project used a wiki. The format seemed to encourage others to edit, make changes and contribute. This acceptance made the project better for everyone (easier to read / easier to understand). In the first week, most members of management team had already tried their hands at editing and some had even created wikipages. Other staff had jumped in and started to edit the pages by correcting typos in a few names. Every time I checked recent changes and saw the contributions of others, I would smile!

I visited the different wikis that were mentioned in our Library 2.0 activities and I found myself considering different ways that ALC could use wikis. Maybe we could keep a private wiki for all our policy and procedures. Maybe we could keep a private wiki with sample F.A.Qs, so that staff could consult it when answering phone queries. Maybe we could keep a wiki with resources and / or activities that we recommend. Maybe...
